The DAGU Racer 01 is a showcase of what Android, Bluetooth and an ATMEGA
combined can do.
The heart of this product is its PCB that features an ATMEGA48V, a Bluecore BC417143B Bluetooth chip (SPP profile) and Dual DC motor controller.
The whole set is designed in the form of an RC car with an accompanying Android Application for Remote Control using your Phone (if you're a hacker I'm sure you'll find ways to use the control board in many other creative ways!)
The Car is powered by a 1 Cell LiPo (included) and the charging circuitry is onboard: just connect the charging cable to any USB port.
The Racer 01 is guaranteed fun out of the box, combining the looks of
a simple R/C car with Android Control over Bluetooth (the perfect geek gadget!).
Some neat Android/Bluetooth stickers and a Transparent cover are included to personalize Chassis and create your own version of the car.
Check out the Teardown/Review bellow for in depth information.
Installing the Android Remote Control App on your Phone:
The Android App is currently available for download from our website:
(you may need to "Allow Installation of non-Market Applications" on your Phone. To do this navigate to Menu -> Settings -> Applications and check the box marked “Unknown Sources“)
Hacking the Android Car (Advanced Users):
A teardown of the Android Car is posted bellow in the attached forum thread.
At the moment only an Android App is available to control the Car but since the BT module operates under the Serial Port Profile it can easily be controlled by any Bluetooth enabled device (such as a PC).
The Protocol table can be found on a PDF bellow. The protocol is really simple: just 2 bytes, one for direction the other for speed.
