Quick overview

ColorFabb - XT Clear - 750grs 2.85mm
Qty:

The ColorFabb_XT range is a special amorphous copolyester with a Tg of 75 C. So you can use this up to 70 degrees C. Toughness is high. Elongation at break = 50% (yield). In comparison, the normal Colorfabb PLA range has a elongation of approx 10% at yield, but has very good layer adhesion properties and is a bit softer compared to standard PLA. Both qualities have minimum warping tendencies.

In addition to this, ColorFabb XT is very transparent and odourless compared to ABS.

Colourfabb XT is eXtra tough, eXtra resistant and eXtra transparent.

This is a translucent colour.

In-house production

All colorFabb 3d printing filaments are produced in our own production facility, situated in the Netherlands. Since no external parties are involved in the making of colorFabb filament we can ensure consistent quality on every order.

Excellent diameter tolerance

An important machine in our production are the laser measurement systems used to check the diameter of our filament real time during production. It’s measured over 1000 times per second and helps us guarantee that each spool of colorFabb 3d printing filament produced within tolerance. We can guarantee 0,05mm +/- on both 2,85mm and 1,75mm colorFabb 3d printing filament, which means you can rest assured that your printer is extruding the exact amount of material.

Packaging

Within minutes of production a spool of colorFabb 3d printing filament is sealed airtight with a double barrier foil. To go the extra mile, we’ll also seal the fancy cardboard box that we use to ship our product. You can make sure colorFabb 3d printing filament is fresh and ready for 3d printing when you’re done unboxing.

In-house testing

The colorFabb testlab features a wide range of popular 3d printers. We’re continuously testing on our 3d printers to keep checking the quality of the materials we produce and to develop exciting new materials for the maker community. If your not sure how to print with our materials on your 3d printer, please contact us at support@robosavvy.com

Tips & Tricks

Adviced 3d printing temperature:

240-260C (colorFabb_XT filament produced before 7th februari can be printed at 220 - 240C)

Adviced 3d print speed:

40 - 70 mm/s

Advised Heated bed

60-70C (colorFabb_XT filament produced before 7th februari 2014 can be printed on a cold bed)

Build platform

For our latest release of colorFabb_XT (production date Februari 2014) we advice to print on a heated bed. If you’re using aluminum of glass as the build plate we advice using glue stick to make sure the first layer sticks well and keeps the part from warping. After printing, the build plate needs to cool down to about 20-30 C at which point you can remove the printed part.
