Hi

Yes the Roboard accepts SD HC cards, meaning it can use any SDHC card.

It should theoretically support up to 32 gb of the sdhc standard.

With regards to my personal experience I did test and use an SDHC card of 4gb successfully.

Regards
Pedro.

Same here I'm using various SD cards from 1GB to 8GB. All seem to work fine.
However I haven't tried a very large SDHC card of say 32GB. I would say it was cheaper at that point to boot off a small cheap Sd then place the rest of the code in a cheap USB Stick at that point depending on the required performance!

I use XP Pro - SP3 + WinLite, and it takes about 3GB.

Thanks for your response, perhaps I should also get a couple of 8gb micro sd cards...?

I have XP loaded on a Transcend 8gb Class 6 card, and have less than 700 mb used on the drive. I pruned a lot out with nLite, then turned off hibernation (creates a huge file on the drive), and turned off the swap file (will give the SD card more life in the long run). I turned off a lot of services that I won't need, and at the moment, have it booting to windows in just under 40 seconds, and shutdown in just under 20. A full reboot cycle is just under 60, timed with the stopwatch on my cell.

By all means, get a class 6 card for whatever size you buy. The speed increase over anything less is phenomenal. I got my card for $20 shipped, so they're not expensive at all.

I've also managed to use the Windows XP Speech library on this board, with an app built in VB.Net using VS 08 and .Net framework 2.0. I didn't check free HDD space after the Framework install, can do that if anyone's interested.

I'm working on getting Roboio.dll to work from VB.net. Has anyone else used Roboio.dll with C#, VB.Net, etc?

Hi Paul

We would definitely be VERY interested in having someone interface the RoboIO library with VB.Net.

The RoboIO DLL seems like a standard C DLL. I am not sure about the calling convention (STDCALL or CDECL) but once you figure that out it should be easy I think.

Here are a few resources:
http://www.codeproject.com/KB/dotnet/c_dll_in_vb.aspx
http://dotnetperls.com/dllimport-interop
http://www.barcoderesource.com/dllimportvb.shtml
http://www.codeguru.com/csharp/csharp/c ... php/c4217/

A search for DLLImport will give you many more results. I think you may be able to get started with this :)

Let us know as you progress.

Regards
Pedro.
