EasyVR - Voice Recognition Module
EasyVR is designed to add versatile, robust and cost effective
speech and voice recognition capabilities to virtually any application.
This module is the successor of the popular VRbot Voice Recognition Module
and builds on VRbot technology to further extend it with Sound Output, User Recorded Sounds and 3 GPIO lines
controllable by the software protocol
The EasyVR module can be used with any host with a UART interface powered from
3.3V - 5V, such as PIC, Arduino or any other embedded board. It is ideal for
applications such as home automation (voice controller light switches, locks,
beds) or adding hearing to most popular robots on the market.
EasyVR Features
- Built-in Speaker Independent (SI) commands for ready to run basic
controls in the following languages:
- English (US)
- Italian
- German
- French
- Spanish
- Japanese
- Supports up to 32 user-defined Speaker Dependent (SD) triggers or
commands.
SD custom commands can be spoken in ANY language
- Supports Voice Passwords: the module can be programmed to
recognize the voice/command of a specific person.
- Easy-to-use and simple Graphical User Interface to program Voice
Commands and Audio (included with the module)
- Module can be used with any host with an UART interface (powered at
3.3V - 5V)
- Simple and robust documented Serial
Protocol to access and
program through the host board
- 3 x GPIO lines (IO1, IO2, IO3) that can be controlled by new protocol
commands
- PWM audio output that supports 8 ohm speakers
- Sound playback feature
- Sample code provided for numerous platforms such as
Robonova, Robozak and Arduino.« and Full protocol specification available for use with any
other platform. (see the Documentation section bellow)
EasyVR vs. VRbot
- Two additional SI languages: Spanish and French
- 3 x GPIO lines that can be controlled by new protocol commands
- Audio output that supports 8 ohm speakers
- Firmware update capability (separate programming adaptor will be
released soon)
- Sound playback feature:
- Users can make their own custom sound tables using Sensory's Quick
Synthesis 4
- New EasyVR GUI includes the commands to process and download custom
sound tables
- All Samples and Code written for VRbot are compatible with EasyVR

Kit Contents:
- EasyVR Module
- Wires
- Microphone
Software and Resources:
All Samples and Code written for VRbot are compatible and will work with
the EasyVR module. ( EasyVR protocol is backwards
compatible with VRbot. )
EasyVR simply adds additional protocol commands to support the new features in
these modules (Sound Output, GPIO lines, etc.). Please see the Datasheet and
Protocol and ensure you're using the appropriate version of the GUI Software.
