Village Plastics is a supplier of High Quality plastic for use with 1.75mm extruders (including the latest Makerbot Stepstruder Models).

Water Soluble plastic is mostly meant to be used with Dual Extrusion machines and makes a great support material for intricate and complex builds as it's really easy to remove after printing.
You can sue PVA as a second print colour to print your own support structures that you can then wash away by immersing your part in water.

There are some challenges to using Water soluble material, the main one being ambient moist which softens it. It is very important to keep it sealed with desiccant to ensure it is in a dry environment.
