MakerBot - PLA 4043D Plastic - 1kg spool, 1.75mm
Polylactic Acid (PLA) is an extremely awesome polymer for many reasons. First,
it’s bio-friendly, as it’s made from corn, which is a renewable resource. Second,
it’s biodegradable, which means it will break down in a landfill. Third, it’s
clear in color, which makes for gorgeous crystalline prints that absolutely
scream for LEDs. Last but not least, it has an extremely low shrinkage factor,
which means it resists warping, even at very large print sizes.
PLA is an experimental filament. Please read our Wiki page for further
discussion of the differences between ABS and PLA.
