POB Educational Platform
POB is an innovative French Robotics platform aimed at
introducing and teaching the various aspects of robotics
in an extremely easy-to-use / easy-to-understand environment.
The various POB models are designed the around a standard POB base:
a mechanical base (POB tank + POB
structure), one controller board (POB proto), one LCD to monitor the
status of the sensors and the
robot and an avanced Colour camera capable of shape recognition (details).
The Robot can be fitted with different POB accessories and also includes
generic A/D ports allowing the addition of a great variety of sensors.
A CD-Rom with examples and development tools and a serial
cable for your PC are also provided.
The base version can be extended with
- Gripper (details)
- Dart gun (details)
- Distance Sensors
- Any other A/D sensor, using the built-in connectors
POB
Platform
The
POB-Bot platform is the first ready-to-use, totally
open robot platform. It allows for mechanical, electronic and software
customization with great ease of use. The software - RISBEE for
starters and the POB-Tools (for VB/C/C#/Java/...) for higher skilled users -
make the POB-Bots an excellent offer for a broad range
of users: high schools, universities, competitions, hobby, etc.
You can start using your robot
with the examples provided and gradually let your imagination go free by
developing new behaviors or adding electronics to increase capabilities
and give new horizons to your robot.

Features
 | Open architecture The POB-Bot has been designed
with an open architecture allowing any kind of customization
(electronics, mechanical and software). Modules communicate via the very fast POB Bus.
An I2C Bus is also available.
Except for the graphical screen, all
POB robot parts can be used in any other robot or application.
You
program the POB-Eye (colour camera) which, in turn, will pilot the other
robot parts. Using the POB platform extensibility features
you can add : - Sensors on
the robot.
- Integrate
servomotors for create an arm.
- Add other parts such as a POBgun and hunt for designated
shapes.
- Or add...your
imagination !!!

of POB to program the POB-robots with no knowledge of a programming
language. Easy to handle, intuitive, fast and full, RISBEE
is a very motivating tool for students.
