|
|
Hi all
The Robotis Tech Support website is finally online here http://support.robotis.com/en/
If you recall there was a temporary version of this website which was slow and incomplete.
The new, final, website is now up and running and seems fast and much more complete.
There a few things still in Korean only but for the main part of Bioloid and Roboplus everything is in English.
For example, a tutorial for Roboplus, can be found this way:
- Go to http://support.robotis.com/en/
- Click BIOLOID
- Click PREMIUM Kit
- Click Tutorial.
You find a nice tutorial to learn Roboplus step by step.
The tutorial covers:
- Introduction
- Motion Creation
- Using the Gyro and Real Time Stabilization
- Using the Gripper (using compliance to limit the force, moving servos directly without a stored motion,...)
Another piece of Very good information is how to Use your Own Custom Sensors with the CM-510.
- Go to http://support.robotis.com/en/
- Click BIOLOID
- Click PREMIUM Kit
- Click Usefull Information
- Click Make your own Sensor
Each ports on the CM-510 exposes one DIO pin (5V) and one ADC pin for analog sensors, plus Vcc (5V) and Gnd
Regards

According to Robotis, the CM5 firmware has to be upgraded in order to get it ready to work with Roboplus tools.
Due I have only one CM5, I was wondering if exist any way to downgrade the CM5 to the initial state.
Pedro, do you know any procedure to rollback the upgrade?
Thanks and regards

| Yep. Just load up the old BCP program and you can change the firmware back. I switch back and forth quite a bit. |

Thanks Billy....there are no problems for the old BCP to recognize the CM5 with a new firmware version?

I just read your question again..
I don't think that the old BCP works with the new firmware. To use the old BCP you need to install the old firmware. Which works just fine. |

I guess it will not work (CM5 upgraded versus old BCP)
So, should be necessary to downgrade the CM5; how you do that?

| You can run the CM-5 recovery from inside BCP. |

|
|
I have migrated the CM5 firmware without any flaw and now the module is recognized by Roboplus. In fact my humanoid is currently running a program downloaded by Robotask.
I am convinced that this language is so beter than the old BCP, that I have no doubts to shift.
Also I have copy and paste the screen the instruccions on the support Robotis Web page. It is a very basic work, no formating, many blank lines, etc. But at least you will get a PDF file with all the basic commands from Robotask and RoboPlus motion.
So, if any of you tell me how can I upload the files, I can contrbute to this forum with two VERY BASIC files of RoboPls manager and RoboPlus motion.

Hi Merlin
On the left side of the site, there is a box named "User Menu" and in there you have link that says "File Manager"
You can upload your files there.
The uploaded files will be available under http://robosavvy.com/Builders/Merlin
You can simple copy and paste the URL into the post and it will be automatically recognized as a link.
Bear in mind this is a Linux system so it means file names are case sensitive. I would also advise that you don't use spaces in the file names when uploading.
Regards

Pedro
As you suggest, I have placed on my user area the two PDF files. One is RPManager contain the RoboPlus Manager funcionality and most of the commands used by the language. The other file is RPMotion, which describe the use of the Motion application.
Both can be find under the same URL:
http://robosavvy.com/Builders/Merlin
As I said in previous post, this work is very rough, no formatting expecting, many blank lines and things like that.
Maybe anyone can take this material to work with and transform in a real Manual as all we expect. This is only the first step.

Does anyone have the source code of the C libraries provided by ROBOTIS for Bioloid? Specifically, I'm looking for the vision.lib source code.
Any tips about getting video signal from the Bioloid wireless camera (eMPIA USB 2820) in C without vision.lib will be highly appreciated as well.
Thanks. |
