Yes, I saw the documentary "live" on PBS last night. It's very well done. It also made me feel inadequate, since my own project to drive an RC car from my PC (to be followed by the PC driving the car autonomously) is going very slowly.

RE: "since my own project to drive an RC car from my PC (to be followed by the PC driving the car autonomously) is going very slowly"

I realize this is off track for RoboNova, so I'll keep it short.

If it helps, I have some source code for a remote controlled and/or autonomous robot made from an RC car (my robot's name is Seeker).

You can read about the details in the Jan/Feb/Mar issues of Servo Magazine (under the title "Intermediate Robots". The source code, etc. is posted on my website www.shinsel.com/robots.

Sorry, the web site is currently running really slow, so be patient on initial connection...

Hope this helps.

Thanks, dshinsel. That code should be helpful when I get to that stage. Right now, my network is the problem. Grrr. Arrgh.
