English Versions of the Kondo/Manoi *.rcb files anyone?

Hi Guys,

Our Manoi is now built and we are going through the set up and movement basics.

The build was very easy, we used the Kondo KHR 2V English build manual as a guide.

However the pre set files that came on the Manoi CD are all in japanese, meaning we do not know what the movements are from the description.

We were wondering if any one here could be so kind as to post the rcb files that came with their own KHR 2V as detailes in the build manual, as these seem to be in full english.

We are also having a problem settign the home position of our manoi as a start position, can any one give some guidance on this please?

Finally if anyone is interrested we have high res pictures of each stage of our manoi build, would be happy to post them if people are interested.

Thanks in advance.

The team @ robolearn.

Following the KHR-2HV docs is a very good strategy and helps a lot. At the same time, some of the setup is different, including the assigned servo/channel numbers.

For example, on the AT01, CH5, CH6, CH9, CH11, CH14, CH15, and CH20 need to be setup 'reverse'. It's covered in the AT01 manual and also mentioned on the AT01 website (see the photo at the bottom of this AT01 website page).

For the most part, the KHR-2HV rcb files won't help very much since they won't run directly on the AT01. Are you just looking for the rcb filename versus what the motion does? Or are you looking at the labels on each block within a specific motion?

Hi Tempusmaster,

Many thanks for the reponse.

Yes we are aware of the differences between our at01 and the khr 2v.

We have been using the files that came on our cd with the manoi at01, but of course the problem is that they are all in japanese, from the name of the file and of course the description of the movements.

What we are really after of course is some english versions of the manoi rcb files, but I think that is asking too much!!!

On the english khr 2v manual page 50 it refers to rcb files which have descriptions of the motions, such as 2hv005 - side step.

Is there any where I can get hold of these english version just so I can look into what the movements and settings relate to?

Thanks in advance.

Robolearn.

I came across this same problem.I have tried to load the rcb files from said Manoi disc but they have an error when loaded into the english program. Not sure may be simply that changing file names has made them unreadable. So , i also would be keen to see these samples.....
i am just going to post i pic of my naked Manoi.

Hi Rep 001,

We did exactly what you stated here, and have had some success.

We just renamed the files and made them an english name, ie manoi1.rcb.

We have had no problem reading these into the english version of heart to heart.

Of course the descriptions are in japanese, and hence unreadble, but we have downloaded them to our own manoi at01, and he does indeed perform different movements.

However as previously stated we can still not get to set the home positions, and keep them stored, such as standing and sitting, so the little man performs the movements, but from the wrong start and hence the movements dont relate to whatever they actually are, ie walking or sidestepping.

Does any one have a know good working set of movements that is working with your own manoi at 01, that you can post here as an rcb file for us to try?

Many thanks again.

Have you centred your servos then selected each as home .Then click writing icon and select M1 for example and that is it done.
I can post my Home position .RCB bt you may need to play with your trims..

Hi There,

If you could post your home .rcb that would be a great place to start.

When centrering the servos, do you mean disconnecting all the arms from the white outputs, and then setting to 0 in the heart to heart software?

Also I have sent commands to the memory locations, but when I turn the switch off on the robot, they are all lost.

I had assumed that we could download moves to the rcb3, that would remain in memory. and then when turning tghe robot switch on these could be played in sequence.

Perhaps we are overlooking something.

Thanks for you help.

I'm not sure if it's what you're running into, but from your description you-

1 - create a motion sequence
2- download to a memory slot in the rcb3 - say M1 for example
3- play it, and it seems to work - i.e. the robot moves the right servos
4- switch the robot off (and perhaps exit H2H)

Then, the next time you power up the robot and look at the memory slots via H2H, there are no motion sequences listed.

If that's what's happening, then try clicking the 'Table' icon on the top bar. Once it opens a new window showing all the memory slots, then click on the icon that shows loading from the robot. It should load all the existing motion sequence information from the rcb3.

If that's not the problem, then could you write up a brief summary of the steps you're taking and what happens?

here is my .RCB file for MY home position. You mentioned removing brackets to centre servos, that step was covered at the beginning of the build did you overlook that stage or are the problems on top of that ??
I will be back on line later if i can help further but Tempusmaster has summed up very well.....

I HOPE NOT! I just hooked them all up to one channel and set the channel to 0. Some spun a bit, some just hummed. Then I hooked up all the arms/horns with the armature in that spot, using whatever indexing the manual said...

Was that right guys??

I have a zip there of all the files I could find. The names have been changed for EVERY item in the files, as well as the filenames. (Most all.)

Also, find pix of my MANOI!

Hi SlashSplat

I've just run into the same issue with my new KHR-1HV. The files seem to be written for the KHR-1 whcih had the 'shin servo' in a different orientation. Ive tried to adjust servos 13 and 19 by about 190 steps to get a seemingly correct position but because there is a hip rotation joint and it is taller, the C of G is so far off it falls over. Also the speed settings are so fast, always set to very low numbers, it just has no chance.

Ive set the speed to 30 and it did improve but still C of G is killing it.

To be honest I came on for the same reason you did, to try and aquire some 2HV files which suit the taller robot and hope to adjust for the additional channels.

BTW, you may have guessed Im new to this and my other half is giving me major grief about spending so much cash on something that cant even run the samples.
